Covers theoretical basics of learning with multimedia instruction, cognitive load theory, instructional design theories, and AI in education. Students learn design principles for multimedia learning and develop knowledge about AI applications in educational contexts.

Methods I
Introduces empirical research methods including hypothesis testing, experimentation in practice, and programming for educational technology. Students learn statistical tests, research principles, and practical research skills with participant limit at 25.

Covers advanced topics in multimedia learning, instructional design theory, and design of instructional materials including texts, pictures, and narrations. Builds on foundational knowledge from Cognition module.

Knowledge Management and Communication
Covers collaborative business process management, learning communities, social media applications, and intercultural learning in educational technology contexts. Addresses technology-enhanced communication and organizational knowledge management.

Human Computer Interaction
Introduces human-computer interaction principles and interactive systems design. Covers both theoretical foundations and practical applications of HCI in educational technology contexts with lectures and tutorials.

AI Support
Focuses on artificial intelligence applications in education including conversational agents, explainable AI, and intelligent systems for human learning. Includes collaborative development projects and analysis of AI's educational potential.

LA & Human Computer Systems
Examines human-centered information systems, learning analytics, cognitive science foundations, and user-centered research methods. Addresses interaction between human cognition and computational systems in educational contexts.
2. Semester8 ECTS
Practice
Comprises professional internship, media practice such as podcast production, or tutoring training and practice totaling 240 hours. Can be completed as one practical training or several partial trainings.
3. Semester10 ECTS
Methods II
Introduces advanced empirical research methods including process analysis and eye tracking techniques for educational research. Provides deeper understanding of research methodologies beyond foundational methods.
4. Semester31 ECTS
Master
Concluding module comprising master's thesis (30 CP) and master seminar (1 CP). Students develop and present original research in educational technology with supervision.
