Power Electronics
Students can apply Fourier analysis to determine power flow of periodic signals, analyze power flow of DC/DC converter topologies, distinguish different power semiconductor devices, understand current commutation principles, and apply basic PWM methods. Content includes analysis of different power semiconductors, DC/DC converter topologies, and three-phase converter topologies.

Modelling of Physical Systems
Students deepen technical knowledge and develop analytical skills for problem solving. They master the modeling process and MATLAB/Simulink programming to implement mathematical description forms of technical systems in simulation models. Content includes application of mathematical and numerical methods for modeling and simulation of real systems.

Renewable Energy Systems
Students acquire knowledge about theoretical description, technical possibilities and practical implementation problems in the transition from conventional to regenerative decentralized energy supply systems. Content covers installation and planning of regenerative energy generators, energy storage, power grid integration, and optimization processes for decentralized energy management.
2. Semester6 ECTS
System Theory
Students acquire system theoretical knowledge to describe, analyze and apply methods to SISO and MIMO systems as well as to communications engineering and control technology problems. Content includes description of linear time-invariant systems in time and frequency domain, analysis of analogue and time-discrete systems in state space, state controller and observer design.
2. Semester6 ECTS
Methods of Power Engineering
Students are able to explain and implement practically oriented procedures to stabilize, secure and optimize electrical supply and consumer installations. Content covers Flexible AC Transmission Systems, power filters, space vector models, active power filter control, high voltage DC transmission, lightning protection, and supply reliability.
2. Semester6 ECTS
Quality in Automotive Industry
Students become well versed in organizational and statistical methods to implement and maintain quality management systems in automotive industry. Content covers ISO 9001 and ISO/TS 16949 standards, process approach, quality management concepts, Total Quality Management, Six Sigma, statistical methods, and production approval processes.
2. Semester6 ECTS
Energy and Environmental Management
Students establish understanding for sustainable development and relationships between greenhouse effect, climate change, and international agreements. They are informed about the German energy transition process, emissions trade, environmental management systems, and ways to increase energy conversion efficiency and renewable energy integration.
3. Semester30 ECTS
Master thesis with colloquium
Students demonstrate deepened theoretical knowledge beyond initial professional studies and ability to solve complex tasks. The Master's thesis shows broad analytical skills and independent problem-solving ability, with students applying skills to recognize trends and future engineering requirements. Examination includes a thesis of 6 months duration and a colloquium.
3. Semester30 ECTS
Internship Semester
Students apply knowledge acquired in their studies to solve practical problems in a company, acquiring professional skills and knowledge, and becoming acquainted with subject-specific problems from their future fields of activity. Assessment includes an internship activity report and presentation.
3. Semester12 ECTS
Project work
Students acquire methodological and personnel skills as part of project work, including the ability to independently work on larger projects, organize themselves and projects, and deal appropriately with criticism and conflicts in a team. Assessment includes a performance record and written project documentation.
