- a license gives  licensee an authority to use the premises, which authority prevents his being treated as a trespasser. Such a licence may be a gratuitous licence or a licence for value. -licence for value takes the consideration which may be given either once for all or may take the form of a periodic payment, as in this case
-gratuitous licence is revocable by notice, but time must be given to the licensee to remove fromthe premises, and even where a licence to occupy is revocable at will, still a reasonable time must also be given to the licensee in which to quit.
