Stem Cell Lecture Series
Scientific lectures presenting original research work on cancer stem cells, hematopoiesis, cell replacement therapy, gene therapy, cellular reprogramming, myogenesis, epigenetics, neural crest-derived stem cells, mesenchymal stem cells, and other current research topics in stem cell biology.

Stem Cell Medicine
Provides molecular, cytological and developmental basis for understanding vertebrate development, stem cell types, characteristics, physiology, derivation and principles including hematopoietic, mesenchymal, embryonic, fetal, adult, and induced pluripotent stem cells.

Biomedical Ethics / Legal Aspects
Covers biomedical ethics including moral status of embryos, stem cell research, reproductive medicine ethics, and legal aspects including German stem cell law (StZG), genetic engineering regulations (GenTG), biosafety levels, and animal welfare in research.

Scientific Writing
Teaches scientific language, technical writing, research proposal design, documentation standards, statistics basics, literature search, and referencing for research proposals, thesis, and publications.

Laboratory Techniques
Provides practical training in stem cell biology techniques including cell culture, stem cell culturing (e.g. iPSCs), experimental design, data acquisition, documentation, interpretation, and responsible laboratory practices.
2. Semester5 ECTS
Stem Cell Biochemistry
Provides molecular, cytological and biochemical basis covering stem cell physiology, signal transduction pathways, signaling processes, stem cell niche, neural stem cells, receptor kinases, cytokine receptors, and autophagy pathways.
2. Semester5 ECTS
Regenerative Medicine
Covers tissue engineering approaches, biomaterials, cell-based and gene therapies, organ system regeneration, organoids, and clinical applications for cardiovascular, hematopoietic, musculoskeletal, and neural cell engineering.
2. Semester5 ECTS
Stem Cell Engineering
Covers molecular genetics, gene cloning in prokaryotic systems, gene expression, sequencing, epigenetic analysis, gene transfer, gene targeting, genome editing (CRISPR/Cas9), transgenic animals, RNA methods, and cell physiology methods.
2. Semester12 ECTS
Laboratory Project and Master Thesis Planning
Prepares students for the master thesis through project work involving planning, execution, and interpretation of stem cell research experiments.
3. Semester30 ECTS
Master Thesis
Independent research project demonstrating the candidate's ability to solve a scientific problem using appropriate methods within a set timeframe, not exceeding 100 pages.
