Foundations and Methods in Political Science
Introduces students with no previous knowledge of Political Science to the discipline. Covers foundations of science, sub-disciplines, central issues such as authority and power, and research methods and techniques necessary for studying Political Science.

Offers introduction to the Arabic language, including its script, basic vocabulary, and foundations of Arabic morphology and syntax.

Focuses on regime change and democratization as central issues in Political Science, relevant to transformation processes in the Arab world.

Introduction to Comparative Politics
Focuses on the Comparative Politics sub-discipline, discussing key logics, core qualitative and quantitative methods, and how comparative research is organized with application to current cases across various world regions.

Language Acquisition Advanced Learners
Offers advanced Arabic students the opportunity to read modern Arabic texts and discuss them orally, covering current Arabic newspapers, media, and books, and encouraging conversations on different topics.

Continuation of Language Acquisition I, building upon basic instruction of Arab syntax and grammar, including derived stems and weak verbs.

Practicum or Trans-disciplinary qualifications
Consists of a part-time or full-time internship with a public or private organization, completion of a course equipping students with trans-disciplinary qualifications, or participation in a special research or teaching project, requiring a written report on academic, professional and cultural experiences.

Develops students' ability to express themselves more precisely and fluently through reading and analysis of selected texts, using authentic material to encourage discussion and deepen intercultural experience.

Covers development politics and international cooperation.

Issues in Cultures and Civil Societies of the Middle East
Explores identity, culture and norms in world politics and contemporary issues in political Islam.
4. Semester30 ECTS
Examination
Consists of writing an M.A. thesis over four months, successfully attending a research colloquium to present thesis outline, and passing an oral examination.
