You can choose from over 280 courses: From Bachelor to Master courses in the fields of humanities, natural sciences, social sciences, law and economics, theologies, medicine and music academies. For example, you can study medicine, economics, languages ​​or music. Because there are relatively many departments, the University of Münster can offer many different subjects. On the website you can read through the exact course content of the respective subject in more detail, so that it is easier for you to decide on the right subject. If you still have questions afterwards, you can always contact the central student advisory service. Either by email or by phone.
Officially there are 15 faculties at the University of Münster. These are distributed throughout the city of Münster, but are still easily accessible from anywhere. The departments of the University of Münster include Evangelical-Theological F., Catholic-Theological F., Legal F., Economic F., Medical F., Education and Social Sciences, Psychology and Sports Science, History - Philosophy, Philology, Mathematics and Computer Science, Physics, geosciences and the music college. With the many faculties, you have a wide range of subjects and many contacts who can support you during your studies if you get stuck.
The first point of contact for questions about studying at the WWU is the central student advisory service. You can reach them in different ways, be it by phone or email. There are also subject-related study advisors who can help you answer questions about the content of your studies or give you tips. Especially in the O week you will make many contacts who will be the first point of contact specifically for your course. For questions about the application or the enrollment ect. the student office is there to help you. When applying, pay particular attention to the deadlines, because if you miss them you have to wait for the next semester to apply again.
At the University of Münster there are different types of studies that you can study: 1. The single-subject Bachelor is called BA (Bachelor of Arts) for a humanities or social sciences course and the BSc (Bachelor of Science) for an economic one - or a natural science course. 2. Further degrees: State examination (STEX) and Magister, in which one also concentrates on one subject. 3. You can also combine two subjects in equal proportions in one course. This type of study is called a two-subject Bachelor (ZFB). Overall, these courses have the same scope as a single-subject Bachelor's degree. 4. If you want to do a teacher training course, the courses are sorted differently according to the type of school. Each shape has its own advantages and disadvantages.
For almost every degree program, there are introductory events at the beginning of the first semester, also known as O week (organization week). There you will get a campus tour, get to know your fellow students and general organizational questions will be answered, e.g. where you register for the exams. So you should definitely take part in the O week to receive interesting and valuable information that can be very important for your studies. However, you can also contact the relevant academic advisory service and - or the student council before or afterwards to receive useful information on starting your studies - in person, by telephone or by email. There is also enough information and assistance on the website for first-timers.
