The communication, information and media center, “KIM” for short, is open 24/7 and is the modern heart of the university. The fantastic location of the university in the four-country region of Lake Constance enables you as a university sport to take exceptional courses such as sailing, mountaineering and skiing.

I am newly enrolled at the University of Konstanz, what happens next? Is there an introduction for beginners?

Yes of course there are. The University of Konstanz offers a two-week orientation phase for first-time students. All questions about studying can be clarified there and you have the opportunity to get to know everything in peace. The so-called Ersti-Cafes” are information events where you can get rid of all your questions. The most important event is of course the introduction to your respective course. You can find the respective dates on the website of the University of Konstanz. It is also recommended to take part in the preliminary courses, as many lectures, e.g. in mathematics, start at a higher level than you are used to from school. There are so many courses to choose from, how should I choose?

Yes, the university even has its own dance group and of course offers a wide variety of university sports courses. Less sporty on the go? No problem! You can go to the meetings of one of the politically or socially engaged university groups. Learn an instrument or a new language. Participate in the university choir or in the theater. Have a coffee with friends or have lunch together in the cafeteria with a view of Lake Constance. The selection of offers at the University of Konstanz is really large and varied.

Does the university offer an international exchange or can I also study in English?

Yes, the University of Konstanz attaches great importance to international exchange. It has built a network of 350 partner universities worldwide. How can I learn most effectively?

In general, of course, it differs from person to person. But a good tip is always to stick with it from the start. Go to lectures and take notes as often as possible. The next day you can read through your notes in peace and quiet and work through things that you have not yet fully understood.
