Which degrees does the TU Chemnitz offer?

The diploma is a professional degree. The standard period of study at Chemnitz University of Technology is a maximum of 9, in exceptional cases 10 semesters. The bachelor's degree is the first professional degree, i.e. H. Graduates can start their careers with a bachelor's degree. The standard period of study for bachelor’s courses at Chemnitz University of Technology is six semesters. Exceptions are the bachelor's degree programs in Systems Engineering and Medical Engineering, the standard period of which is set at seven semesters. The master’s degree is a higher academic and professional degree that can only be acquired if a first academic professional degree has already been obtained. The standard period of study for master’s courses at Chemnitz University of Technology is four semesters. Exceptions are the master’s courses in Systems Engineering and Medical Engineering, the standard period of which is set at three semesters. Chemnitz University of Technology offers teaching at primary schools as a state examination. The standard period of study is eight semesters. In addition, after the first state examination, a legal traineeship of one year must be completed.

Do I have the opportunity to spend one or two semesters abroad at the Technical University of Chemnitz during my studies?

Yes. As a student at the TUC, you have the opportunity to study abroad either within Europe or worldwide. The same applies to internships abroad. The TU Chemnitz also offers summer schools and language courses in which you can take your language skills to the next level. If you decide to spend a semester abroad, you can take part in the Erasmus program in case you want to study within Europe. Of course, there is also the possibility to spend a semester abroad outside of Europe - if you need financial support for this, you can apply for a PROMOS scholarship or at the DAAD.

What is student life like at the TU Chemnitz or in Chemnitz?

Studying in Chemnitz offers you an extensive student life - on the TUC campus, but also in the city of Chemnitz. The TU Chemnitz offers, among other things, soft skill courses, as well as a wide range of sports and numerous language modules. The most popular spots for TUC students are the wind tunnel, PEB, FPM Club, film club in the middle” or the Club of Cultures. There is plenty of variety here at student prices.

How is the campus of the TU Chemnitz structured?

The campus of the Chemnitz University of Technology consists of two main parts: the StraNA campus (Street of Nations) and the campus on Reichenhainer Straße. The former is very centrally located - it is only a few minutes' walk to the city center. Further components of the TUC campus are Wilhelm-Raabe-Straße, the Sportforum and Erfenschlager Straße.
