At RWTH Aachen there are usually no tuition fees, but all students, including exchange students, have to pay a student and social contribution that includes the cost of the semester ticket. The exact amount changes annually, but averages around 285 euros per semester. The total costs of studying and living in Aachen (rent, insurance, living expenses, etc.) are on average at least around 1,100 euros per month or 13,200 euros per year.

You have the opportunity to study as part of the Erasmus + program (within Europe) or in the so-called non-EU program (outside Europe) at a foreign partner university of RWTH Aachen University. RWTH cooperates with the following well-known international universities: Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), University of California, Davis, etc.

With over 100 courses, the nine faculties of RWTH Aachen University offer you a wide range of courses: engineering, natural sciences, geosciences, economics, humanities and medical subjects. For several years now, RWTH Aachen University has switched all courses to the Bachelor-Master structure. The only exceptions are currently medicine and dentistry. Other courses leading to a diploma and state examination can only be studied in later semesters.
