Neuroanatomy

Where is the CSF present in which CNS is bathed?
Subarachnoid space

Neuroanatomy

Superior  cerebellum peduncle connects
Cerebellum  -- Midbrain

Neuroanatomy

Middle cerebellar peduncle connects
Cerebellum--pons

Neuroanatomy

Inferior cerebellar peduncle connects
Cerebellum--medulla

Neuroanatomy

Diencephalon consists of
Dorsal thalamus,  Ventral hypothalamus

Neuroanatomy

Site of spinal nerve formation
Intervertebral  foramina

Neuroanatomy

Which is sensory  and which is motor?
  • Anterior root
  • Posterior root
  • Anterior  ramus
  • Posterior ramus
  • A.root - motor
  • P.root - sensory.                                                      These both join at intervertebral  foramina to form spinal nerve.                                                Spinal nerve , after emerging  from  intervertebral  foramina,  immediately  divides into
  • A.ramus , P. ramus--> each containing both sensory and motorfibres

Neuroanatomy

How many types of ganglia are present
  • Dorsal or posterior root ganglion
  • Sensory ganglion of cranial nerves(5,7,8,9,10)
  • Autonomic  ganglion

Neuroanatomy

Which cranial nerves  contain  ganglion
And are they sensory  or motor?
5,7,8,9,10
Sensory

Neuroanatomy

Where does the fusion of neural folds start(to form neural tube) and how  do they extend  ?
Why?
Which side closes  first  ?
How much time  does it take?
  • Fusion starts at the midpoint along the groove
  • Extends  both  cranially  and  caudally
  • This happens  so that in earliest  stage  , the cavity  of  the  tube  remains  in communication  with  amniotic  cavity  through  anterior  and  posterior  neuropores.
  • Anterior  neuropore closes  first  and 2 days  later  posterior  neuropores closes.
  • Neural  tube  closure  is  complete  within  28 days.
